Dear Surya,

Before anything else, on behalf of everyone at Vanguard Interactive Studios, our warmest congratulations to you and your wife, Devisha Shetty, and to your whole family on the arrival of your little one. We are truly delighted for you all, and we wish your daughter health, happiness, and a wonderful life ahead.

What we are building

A premium cricket game, built to a world standard.

We are building ICV30, a premium next-generation cricket game, and are currently creating a polished, playable demo to present to investors.

ICV30 is a cricket simulation in the truest sense — the player plays the cricket itself, every ball and every shot, across Match Day, The Journey and Vanguard XI. In Vanguard XI, card ratings follow players’ real-world form, but every match is played, never watched — and weekly online competitions are part of the design.

The build, today

Wankhede, rebuilt.

We began with the ground Mumbai calls home — structure, tiered seating, floodlights and broadcast gantries, the full bowl modelled end to end. An 83-second flythrough of the current build.

The hero of the game

We would love to recreate you.

Within the game, with the detail and respect a player of your standing deserves — and beyond the game itself, a real role in what we are building. There are three things I would ask of you: a motion-capture session with our production partner Firebolt Entertainment in Hyderabad, a high-resolution likeness scan, and your voice on the gameplay itself — as its authenticator, and a member of the board we are forming.

Everything that follows is exactly what that involves, so it is all clear and comfortable before anything is committed.

What the day looks like

Five steps, fully handled.

01

Motion capture session

You wear a lightweight tracking suit while we capture your complete motion style: your stance, every signature batting shot, your running between the wickets, your celebrations, and the moments that are uniquely yours. I will be right there alongside the Firebolt team, directing each take with you. It is relaxed, professional, and entirely at your pace.

02

High-resolution likeness scan

A photogrammetry and 4D scan captures your face and form to the finest detail, built with the same calibre of technology EA Sports FC and NBA 2K use for their biggest names, with you as the hero showcase of ICV30.

03

Behind-the-scenes capture

With your permission, we will record a little behind-the-scenes footage of the session, used solely for our private investor presentation and never for public release or marketing. When we move into full game production, any capture of this kind would be done at a far higher scale and agreed with you in advance.

04

Processing and delivery

After the day, Firebolt handles all the technical work of turning the capture into finished, game-ready animation that brings your character to life in ICV30.

05

End-to-end coordination

I will personally oversee the entire process from start to finish, including scheduling, the studio, logistics, and all production costs, all of which are arranged and borne by Vanguard Interactive Studios. I will be there with you throughout the day, and the only thing we ask of you is your time on the day itself.

The production, documented

This is the rig, already in motion.

These are real takes from our current capture programme, a performer in a marker suit inside the capture volume, running the full range of the game. Press play on any of them. The same stage, the same standard, awaits your session.

Behind the scenes

Not just the match days.

Every capture day is documented behind the scenes — the studio, the work, and the moments between takes. It is the kind of footage that brings investors and players inside the build, and shows the standard we hold ourselves to.

On set · in his words

The ask

An hour of your time
A sit-down · wherever and whenever suits you

What I am really hoping for is the chance to sit down with you in person and talk you through the whole project properly — the vision, the game, and the roles I would like you to play. I will come to wherever works best for you.

And when you are ready, the capture day itself: Firebolt Entertainment · Hyderabad, on any date that works for you — the studio and the team arrange everything around your schedule.

Your rights

Protected, in writing, before anything proceeds.

Because this involves your likeness and performance, a formal agreement setting out exactly how your image is used, and protecting your rights throughout, will be provided separately for you and your representatives to review. Nothing proceeds without your sign-off on those terms.

The commercial and financial side of your involvement — your role, and the terms that come with it — is something I would rather set out with you openly in person when we meet, and then formally through your representatives.

Your role, beyond the capture

Three things — and a seat at the table.

01

Motion-capture session

The full capture day at Firebolt Entertainment, Hyderabad — your stance, your shots, your movement, exactly as set out above.

02

High-resolution likeness scan

A photogrammetry and 4D scan captures your face and form to the finest detail — down to your tattoos — and turns it into a game-ready digital double. It runs through Firebolt’s own digital-double pipeline, the same craft behind their film VFX work — the likeness the entire hero build rests on.

03

Gameplay authenticator · Board member

Your judgement on how the cricket itself feels to play — and with it, a place on the board we are forming, alongside Ravi Savant, Chandramani C. Awasarmol and myself. Your capture carries the investor demo; your voice helps carry the game that follows.

The scan, in practice

A digital footprint, built to last.

Firebolt’s partnership with Yash Raj Films and seventeen years in motion capture and character art put this in genuinely safe hands — the calibre to deliver a AAA-standard product and a digital footprint of you built exactly as you deserve. This is that same scan craft at work.

This is the team for the demo. After the investor meet we move into full production, and the team expands substantially.

Investor interest is already coming from Mumbai, Monaco, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, the United Kingdom and the United States.

And ahead of us, conversations we hope to open with Ashok Aswalkar Sir and Lalchand Rajput.

And this I owe plainly: none of this would have reached you without Mr. Ravi Savant and his guidance and support. Through this entire demo he has opened one door after another, and it is through him that we are even connected — I owe him more than I can easily repay.

The vision

Authentic enough that it feels like the middle.

Your animations and character go straight into the demo we are building for our investors. Beyond that, I would love your input on how the gameplay itself feels. Your perspective, as both an international cricketer and a fellow gamer, would be invaluable.

I want ICV30 to feel genuinely authentic, so that when a player faces Jofra Archer's bouncer or Bumrah's yorker, they feel it the way you do out in the middle, as though they are the ones on the field rather than holding a controller.

Where it really began

BARC.

Before I say any more about the game, I want to thank you for something else. The gesture you showed our coach, Ashok Sir — everyone who grew up playing at BARC felt it, and it touched me more than I expected. It was a kind thing to do, and a beautiful thing to watch.

BARC has always been my quiet corner inside the noise of Mumbai — the ground I go to in the mornings to walk, to jog, simply to breathe. My shrine, in its own way. It was never just a colony; it is family, and the values it gave us are the ones I am building this company on.

So when I imagine who starts this journey with me — who I build ICV30 with first — I think of our own, before any bigger name. We already carry the same values, the ones the colony taught us both. I would rather begin here, with you, than anywhere else.

Picture the side itself — the people BARC gave me: Chandramani Awasarmol, Swapnil Biwalkar, Ashok Aswalkar Sir, Suryakumar Yadav and Lalchand Rajput. One colony, one team — on the pitch or off it, I don’t fancy anyone’s chances against us.

So many of us feel it now — that BARC isn’t what it once was. Maybe it isn’t. It isn’t the whole reason I am building this game — but perhaps, without quite realising it, I am building that team back: the old, glorious BARC, its atmosphere, the spirit that raised us, given somewhere to live on again.

A personal note

Across the few times we have shared the field together, the impact you left in those brief moments has stayed with me ever since. It would be a genuine honour to build something together and to create new memories off the field as well, in a sport and an industry we are both deeply passionate about, and one in which you are a true icon. That would mean more to me than I can easily put into words.

And on a lighter note, I hear you are pretty handy on the PlayStation, so I may just have to challenge you to a game of FIFA while we are there.

Anvit and Suryakumar Yadav

I would be glad to arrange a brief call whenever it suits you, and to answer any questions you or your team may have.

With warm regards,
